ABOUT

Hello!

Thank you for visiting my website. Over 10 years later and the site and collection is still live!

Photography has been, and always will be, a huge passion of mine. I learned the medium through film growing up which taught me the skill and obvious technicality of using a camera. The attention needed on your shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance being critical to having a nicely lit and composed photo. No less than a few minutes needed to prepare for a single shot. Imagine! Though, of course, here we are in 2022 and our pocketed iPhones can take detailed photos with a click of a button. Though this can, at times, certainly diminish the previous need for an actual camera, nothing can quite compare to a photo thoughtfully taken with a DSLR.

The thing I love about photography is the idea of documenting a moment in time and savoring it forever. It could be an emotionally triggering moment or something small and intimate. A sprawling landscape or a simple smile. My journey with photography started with film and lent itself to a nice side business originating where I grew up in Kansas City. The business revolved around portrait and event photography and was a great way to fund my adventures through high school and college. The business hasn't died out, but my professional career in startup software sales has taken me from San Francisco to Sydney, Australia and now back to San Francisco! I still love portrait photography and certainly do take appointments and photoshoots, but these days my consistent photography medium is travel photography.

You'll notice my Australia gallery where I have resided in Sydney for the past few years. One of my great loves in life is exploring the great outdoors. Running, hiking, wandering. Ultimately this website is a collection of memories and a portrayal of historical work. I welcome you to have a peruse, and happy to sell any photos that you deem worthy of printing or book an appointment for a portrait shoot. Otherwise, enjoy the scroll and thank you for visiting!
